As fitted to Marc Marsden?s 694.8bhp Jamsport built, AIRTEC cooled and Revo powered RS Mk2. The Stage 2 intercooler and market leading 2.5? big boost pipe kit is a must have upgrade for your 400+ BHP Focus RS.
The included 2.5? hard boost pipe upgrade removes Ford?s restrictive 2.0? OEM boost pipes and allows for much freer flowing movement of air. We saw gains of 11.8bhp & 9 lb. ft. torque increase over the standard Ford pipes, these gains were achieved by simply bolting on the big AIRTEC 2.5? boost pipe kit!
All of the boost pipes have swaged ends to stop the pipes blowing off on big horsepower Focus RS?s and are finished in a choice of either Pro-Series Black or Natural Silver.
Why a Stage 2? With Focus RS tuning being pushed to new levels with 400+ packages becoming the norm, we knew a bigger, better flowing intercooler would be a great addition to help get the most out of these new exciting tuning packages.
The problem we faced is that the design of our Stage 1 AIRTEC intercooler is already so good! We have proved it was capable enough for a 500+ bhp Focus, so we went about making something great, even greater. We knew our original 60mm thick bar and plate core was great at displacing heat and very close to unbeatable on rolling road testing so we didn?t want to go too far otherwise the pressure drop seen would have meant that very little would be gained so the 60mm core was upgraded to a 65mm unit.
Then we looked at the air flow, which would be one of the crucial elements to the Stage 2 being so successful. Making the air flow as easily as possible and making sure there wasn?t any sharp corners to slow the air down made for some impressive results. You can see from the photos the smooth flow of the cast end tanks and the design work that has gone into making this kit.

The following test results were carried out on Jamsport?s very own demo car.
AIRTEC Stage 1 Intercooler:
Air temp into Intercooler ? 141 degrees
Air temp out of Intercooler ? 34 degrees
AIRTEC Stage 2 Intercooler:
Air temp into Intercooler ? 149 degrees
Air temp out of Intercooler ? 26 degrees
We also saw power gains of 20+ bhp throughout the mid range along with a 30 lb. ft. torque increase. This was simply by swapping from Stage 1 to Stage 2.
